3 WAYS TO INSTILL HONESTY IN CHILDREN

Posted: November 02, 2016

1.Set Rules: Children need to know that we value the truth and that the consequences of lying outweigh the consequences of what they are lying about.  2.Teach your children to ask questions when they are thinking about lying: What is my gut telling me to do? Will I be able to look the person in the eye? Will I be able to sleep at night knowing that I lied? 3.Reward Honesty: Reward truth-telling even when it’s difficult.

Remember to demonstrate truth telling yourself! Children do as we do, not as we say.
